(Cont’d) … Well, Duh… That’s Why They Call it “Resonance”

To start from the beginning of the post, click here

= = = = =

The first person who ever told me about the Law of Attraction was Michael Losier, a speaker and the author of a book called, appropriately enough, “The Law of Attraction”.

His catch phrase is: “If it feels good, it is. If it doesn’t, it isn’t.”

Similarly, Zen DeBrucke, one of “secret” mentors featured in our Masters of the Secret audio / transcript package, walked us through how to tap into our Internal Guidance System, or IGS. Hundreds of people on the live call all experienced the same thing, so we know it works.

In a nutshell? If it feels good, it is (and your IGS loosens up). If it doesn’t, it isn’t (and your IGS tightens).

So… how does this relate to my “duh” moment?

Well, there are three main “conflicts” I have seen come up among the experts:

1. GOALS: Should you set time-bound specific goals, or is that too limiting to your potential outcome?

2. ACTION: Should you take action right away, or wait until you’re inspired to do so?

3. HOW: Should you try to figure out the “how” or let the Universe take care of that?

There are other smaller discrepancies, like whether you should word your desire as “I need… “, “I want… ” or not, and we could go on for days picking apart, “he said this, but she said that… ” But just trust me, the same concept works for all this stuff. I’m a journalist, I’ve done my research, I’ve been bonked on the head by the Universe, and I’m confident in sharing these thoughts.

The answer is “resonance”. That’s what drives Michael’s “if it feels good… ” theory, and that’s what drives Zen’s IGS.

Resonance.

That’s what attracts things to you or repels things from you… the frequency everything vibrates on, and whether it’s in resonance with your frequency.

So… how does relate to Goals, Action and How?

Here’s the deal.

Should you set time-bound, specific goals and take calculated action steps towards those goals every day?

Well, does it feel good? Does that get you jacked up, excited, driven to achievement?

Yes? Then do it.

No? Then don’t do it. Find a way to set your intentions and choose your goals and aspirations that resonates with you; that feels good.

Should you take massive, focused action towards your desired outcome?

Does it feel good? Does it make you feel like one of the top 2% of people in the world that are willing to do what other people won’t?

Good… then do it. You’ll move mountains.

Does it frustrate you to start taking action when you haven’t received guidance towards what sort of action you should take?

Do you feel like you’re accomplishing more when you follow what Jack Canfield and Joe Vitale call “inspired action” instead of random action for the sake of taking action? Then listen to your inspiration and follow what it tells you.

Sometimes inspired action can seem like it’s leading you on a wild goose chase… does that confuse you and make you lose focus? Then don’t wait for it.

Does it excite you and make you feel like you’re living a fun adventure? Then follow it, no matter how ridiculous it seems.

Should you try to figure out “how” to do something once you set an intention or goal? Or should you just focus on the “what” and the “why” and leave the “how” to the Universe?

Okay, I have to make something clear here… YOU are the Universe. To quote from What the Bleep Do We Know?… “There is no ‘out there’ out there.”

YOU are the “out there”.

So if the “how” is the domain of the Universe… it’s really the domain of YOU.

Whoah… that’s one to blow your mind.

But of course the YOU that’s the YOU-niverse is your higher self, and you may not be aware of these processes going on.

So… do you enjoy figuring out the “how” with the willingness to follow other better “hows” as they come along? Then do it.

Do you want to let the higher YOU-niverse tell you the “how” when the earth-bound you is ready?

Then do that.

Whatever turns your crank. Whatever floats your boat. Whatever blows your fan. (These are all highly professional terms that I’ve borrowed from mentors we’ve interviewed, by the way).

Whatever resonates with YOU.

Because duh… that’s why they call it resonance.

What a fascinating way to describe this topic. I guess if your not comfortable with something you should find the ways and means of creating that comfort zone until it feels good or resonates with you. Could this be compared to the “mind over matter” theory?

3. - April 12, 2007

Hi Susan,

I would confuse proper resonance with a comfort zone… resonance attracts things we want to us, while comfort zones keep us where we are.

But thanks for the comment!

cheers
Heather

4. - April 13, 2007

Heather, thanks for pointing that out….wrong choice of words. I guess what I’m trying to ask is….if you want something and your not comfortable or not getting a good feeling about it, you just don’t give up on it. Some type of action has to take place in order to finally reach the state of resonance needed to obtain it. Is this correct?

Susan

5. - April 13, 2007

How would you feel if you intended, decided or chose something instead of ‘wanting’ it…?

6. - April 13, 2007

I love Heather Vale.

Awesome insights here. Also, I had never heard “whatever blows your fan” one before…so thanks for that!

That really makes ALOT of sense…each one of us “sees” a unique aspect of the jewel of life. It’s the same jewel but with a slightly different facet that is calling, resonating to me and to you. We should be in a flow. It should be enjoyable, fun and I should daresay easy…if it is not, maybe we should check the vibrations or the resonance we have with it. I’m not saying it is easy to start with…I think the most important thing to do is just start and it will get easier…probly because we are actually practicing picking up the vibrations of what we want and feeling the resonance.

8. - April 13, 2007

Good Stuff- there’s not a set path or rigid set of steps to follow. The universe (which is you) seems to be “nonlinear”. I often find that when I get stuck, I “let go” of the need to control the outcome and the result turns out better than I imagined. This takes processing if you’re used to getting a shit samdwich when you tried to order a steak. Keep resonance and virbration in line with your goals (which sometimes take time to “manifest”). Be ever aware of your feelings and states and work on techniques which foster a high energy level. Our moods and neurological knowhow determine our reality “out there”. That’s real magic…….

9. - April 13, 2007

Maybe I’m hopelessly old school, but is this not what we called listening to/following your guts???

10. - April 13, 2007

Thank you for the brilliant insight. I hadn’t thought about this — but it makes SO much sense. I guess it’s really a matter of listening to your heart (resonating) with the hows and the whats. :-D

11. - April 13, 2007

Hi Heather,

As you know, I’ve been struggling with exactly that type of situation… This sheds incredible light and finally I feel like it’s ok to take action when feeling inspired, that I don’t have to ‘move mountains” every single day in order for the universe to work for me.

The other biggest question mark in my mind was time frames, I am driven by time frames, all goals and desires have time frames allocated and when those time frames pass me by, I feel like I’ve failed or I didn’t do it right and of course this discourages me and probably reverses any vibration that was “just around the corner”.

It was an incredible mind shift for me to realise that it’s not a race, there is no first place, just your place and that relieved so much pressure that I can now hold an intention, take steps towards and know that the “how” will sort itself out.

Thanks for this. REALLY! I had my Aha moment for today.

12. - April 13, 2007

Thta is what we were yelling at the world from India, for a long tome now. Most of us accept things as they come and try to be happy with what we get. The key is to strive more in those areas where inclination leads you. Inclination is called your fate. It comes to you from your earlier associations in the universe. Some people are happy earning money, some try to get power, some try to find themselves. It is all packed into you. Just unleash yourself.

13. - April 13, 2007

The mystery is that each of us is “one in many”. As Fran puts it that each is a different facet of the diamond. Each is unique, yet each comes together as one.
LOA is very sensitive to the resonances we generate, albeit to most of us is subconscious. How much consciousness can each reach?

For me, it’s still chaotic. At least, I now am aware, and is touching first base. It’s my universe at play, and I want to call the shots.

14. - April 13, 2007

I think if it makes you sit up and gets you moving - that is a signal you are onto ’something’. If you have to think about it and have a argument on whether you should or should not, dont even go there. We have heard for years, do what is your passion, that makes you happy and that drives your intent. I am at 51 finally getting the point. Nothing gives me the ‘zing’ like doing something that inspires me or excites me. You cannot wait to get up in the morning and do it, it makes you daydream and plan and it makes you feel alive. So I say ‘what ever makes you feel alive’ that is the secret to your happiness.

15. - April 13, 2007

It feels good reading the messages above! Nice insights!

16. - April 13, 2007

You know, we’ve always been told the secret to the law of attraction ie. “You can be whatever you set your mind to” or “Life is what you make of it” etc.
Then the movie The Secret comes out with a few discrepancies like you only have to think it versus ask for it or feel it….what tha??
My personal take on this is that regardless of what you say or think or do, somewhere deep inside of you, where your internal motor resides, you vibrate, we all agree on that, I’m sure, but no matter what you say or think or visualise you vibrate acording to what you feel at a subconcious level, acording to what you believe to be true.
They tell you that you have to start by trying to attract things that are “reasonable” to you, for example, if you earn $24K p.a. and you didn’t even finish high school and you’re asking for a ferrari and a triple storey mansion, your internal motor, your subconcious or your vibrations are going to be saying, YEH RIGHT! So you have to start with small things so that you can begin to believe that this thing works, at a subconcious level.
When I talk to people about this and they tell me that things aren’t working for them I always ask them if they really believed it would happen, really believe and after some thought they always say that deep inside they really don’t believe, THEY WANT TO, but they can’t because they’re asking for too much for their psyche to accept.
So what effect does this have on them? They sabotage their order.
They ask for something one minute but because they don’t believe it can really come about, they subconciously send the order cancellation out.
I always tell people to start by asking the universe to show them proof by giving them little things at first and as they start to see small results and they start to believe the LOA really works then they can slowly build up the size of their wants.
Alternatively you can always ask the universe to give you one of those gob-smacking aHA! moments with a sudden, out-of-nowhere insight into how it all works, this worked for me and I believe I now have a good understanding of LOA that works for ME.

17. - April 13, 2007

WOW! This is terrific. I have to tell you, recently I have been struggling with a project I have taken on. In the beginning of the endeavour I had extreme excitement and many goals. However, as time passed and the people around me became more verbal about how “I was wasting my time” I began to second guess myself. After reading and listening to personal development over the past several months I’ve come to the conclusion that I live in a very negative world. My work-place, my home, and most of the people I associate with are plagued with negativity, sometimes I feel trapped because moods seem to be contagious. Recently I’ve been concentrating on the fact that I have to involve myself with more positive people, influences and experiences…….and what do you know…….here you all are! I’ve only been introduced to the “secret” a couple of weeks ago and already I’m beginning to attract that which I desire. Your insights are awesome lessons for me, thanks for sharing.

Poppycock!

This is nothing more than re-regurgitated regurgitation!

Do you have a single original thought of your ow to share?

What a waste of time. Ten bucks says you don’t even print this.

19. - April 13, 2007

Wow — really nice to see all these great posts here, it’s resonating with me!

Couple of points… Anthony, that’s a popular misconception that the Secret says you only have to think it, and it’s something the media keeps repeating. But Jack Canfield specifically says in it, “it’s not the power of positive thinking” and Joe Vitale says, “The Universe likes speed. Don´t delay. Don´t second guess. Don´t doubt. When the opportunity is there, when the impulse is there, when the intuitive nudge from within is there, ACT. That´s your job. That´s all you have to do.”

The movie boils the LOA formula down into “Ask, Believe, Receive” but according to James Ray, that’s just one teacher’s formula that resonated with Rhonda. Why? Nice, succinct, easy to remember, good media sound bite.

Perhaps it doesn’t resonate with other people though, and for me it’s a little too simplistic because it doesn’t tell the rest of the manifestation process… but to be fair, it’s only the LOA they’re referring to and as Barry always says, manifestation is about a lot more than the LOA.

And Tim — yes, this is the same as listening to your gut. That’s how I relay it to other people usually, who are not aware of these processes the way we all are here. I say, “I don’t know, my gut reaction is… ” or “my gut’s telling me… ” and then they understand. But if I said, “well, it’s just not resonating with me,” or “my IGS is tightening,” they’d either think I’m a kook or I’d spend hours explaining… and they’d still think I’m a kook! ;-)
cheers

20. - April 13, 2007

Good Morning!

I find these responses very enlightening. I just want toshare my thoughts here…if I may… It does not matter what you read, see, hear, or internalize.
The outcome results in your truth and what is perfect for your path. I think that so many people want to find the shortcuts in life and in hindsight it is only through the internal process where we can find our own truth and own what we believe.
The beauty of the process is that your truth changes through the process, and at some point those aha moments engulf your brain and your mind, body, soul align with all you have asked and that is the real moment when you feel deep down it is so! Thank you for indulging me. I love to read everyone’s perspective. Truth is beauty, Beauty is truth.

21. - April 13, 2007

Whoa, David! Talk about resonance…As a member of this universe trying to figure out how to resonate at a frequency to attract what I want, I have been thrilled to read the comments of those who have accomplished this feat or have had ah-ha moments leading them on the path of achievement of their goals, and they have been positive comments. This resonates as “feel good” to me, however, I am an open person and looking for “Truth”. Can you tell me if your negative take on things has attracted what you want to you? If so, this would be an astounding ah-ha for me.

22. - April 13, 2007

No, it’s not original. That’s the beauty of it, it has been here all along: “As a man thinketh, so is he” “Whatever is just, pure, lovely, of good report, and with any virtue, think on these things.” “Whatever you ask believing, you shall receive.” “Know ye not that ye are gods?” “Whatsoever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatsoever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Looks to me like, it has all been waiting on us all along! Mysteries, waiting to be discovered. Well I say : Hallelujah!

23. - April 13, 2007

lol — yes, David, we’d all be curious to know what you’re attracting with that energy! ;-)
Where’s my $10?

cheers
Heather

24. - April 13, 2007

Hi Heather,

I’m looking forward to our interview on Sunday. Great topic — Thank-you!

I’m no expert here but may I add…

Following your gut — doing what resonates — following your Internal Guidance System all feel good.

It does resonate.

To Me, It Is Waaaay Deeper Than That…

Perhaps I’m regurgitating — sorry David — but in us all are emotional blocks and misconceptions.

Taking it one step further…

Emotional wounds — Yes — In all of us, even YOU! : )

Whether we want to admit it or not, our childhood, and for that matter, our adult experiences distort how we see ourselves, our circumstances and the YOU that is our Universe.

It’s so relevant to understand because what may feel right may be, and often is, unhealthy. The extreme example would be the abused wife who goes back to her abuser.

Make no mistake…

On some level, we all resonate with and feel good about doing things…

That are NOT best for us. Emotionally speaking, there is a piece of the abused wife in us all.

Perhaps there is a feeling of “this isn’t right” but we will move towards it — our energy will not be attracting what is best.

Honestly…

It’s just not as simple as do what feels right.

What we “carry” with us (emotionally) is real and has a great impact on us — how we see what we see, why we feel what we feel, needs to be honestly looked at and worked on.

It is personal — it is our own — It can not be denied!

I know from experience — By God’s hand I have been guided into doing my own deep internal work, despite the fact that I was “normal.”

Now, I’ve seen many others do it as well — It surprises anyone who take’s it on how out of whack our perceptions are.

This realization creates a whole new awareness of what is right…for us! We can see it and “feel it” more clearly, on a much deeper level.

Indeed…

There is depth of understanding in all things right?

In the case of what we feresonate with, we should be sure that our perceptions aren’t blinded by our emotional wounds.

We should be clear that what we are attracting — good or bad — is coming from our resonance and…

We should know exactly why we’re attracting it and have the courage to look at it.

I might say this…

When I say emotional wounds the people who tend to “get it” are those whose woundedness is obvious — depression as an example.

This is not my experience…

Even the most “normal” of us are carrying “stuff” — stuff that deeply affects our daily interactions and here’s the key…

To a degree that we are not yet aware of.

Now that’s a Whoa!

Think about it…

What anger are you carrying?

What reason do you have to feel unworthy?

How is it affecting your every interaction?

Fortunately it’s not so difficult to uncover and set straight.

Thanks again,
Shaune

25. - April 13, 2007

Hey Shaune,

Well, you just added a whole new dimension to our interview that was SUPPOSED to be about interviewing! ;-)
Interesting side note, this keeps happening to me lately… I interview people about internet marketing, or SEO, or product launches, or creating a successful business — physical stuff — and the conversation keeps turning toward metaphysical stuff.

Is this me attracting successful business people who happen to be aware of the universe? Or are they picking up on my resonance? I don’t have an answer for it, but a year ago I thought I was dealing with several completely different topics, and now I realize everything I do is all connected too.

Yes, Shaune, good points about carrying the baggage… and that we attract everything we have…

I do think that if someone is depressed or upset they need to clear their “stuff” on their own. Sometimes we can use some help though.

Personally, I have specific friends that I go to for specific reasons when I’m dealing with issues, or even just minor stresses (that seem major at the time). They always say the right thing for the right time, and I know exactly who I need to talk to in each instance.

In the end though, it’s still me dealing with the stuff, it’s just that they provide a catalyst that I’m looking for. One of them asked me a question the other day, and I said, “Are you asking for me, or for you?” and he said, “It’s the same thing, really.”

Whoah!

There are a lot of tips I’ve learned from various people I’ve interviewed about how to clear our “stuff”, but again… you have to do what resonates with you, and we’ll all have different stuff-clearing techniques that work for us based on that resonance.

cheers
Heather

Well

This article ‘resonated’ with me and gave me some great insights into improving how I can ‘be me’ in this life.

In Harmony

27. - April 13, 2007

Great to read and digest all of your thoughts expressed here, even David’s. LOA is as individual as we are. My take is that we are all energy, our subconcious mind is the direct connection to the universe of energy. Our thoughts and feelings create vibrations that have a frequency and we know like attracts like. A nice twist thrown in by Shaune but I wouldn’t get to hung up on improper thoughts from past issues. We all grow and learn to some degree every day of our lives and past thoughts can change as new information is brought to light. I’ve been reading about LOA for a little over twelve months and my life is definately moving toward where I want to be. I have used bits from various authors that felt good to me when I read them. A little bit from this author, a little from another. No one can put the pieces together for you, they can only put them out for you to arrange in your own individual way.
Anthony has the right idea with starting with easy things that you truly believe you are worthy to receive and build on that foundation.
And Susan it is difficult to soar like an eagle when you are surrounded by turkeys, but use the positive vibes from others to raise your belief and lift you higher.
If you want to go further down the rabbit hole try “Busting Loose from The Money Game” by Bob Scheinfeld. I’ve just finnished reading it and it has opened up a whole new area for me to explore.

Dave

28. - April 13, 2007

Dave — nicely put.

I also learn “a little bit from this teacher, a little bit from that one” but in fact Bob Scheinfeld’s work has really inspired me.

Okay, I’m not allowed to reveal the secret Masters yet from Masters of the Secret… but… well… alright, there might be something there from him. And that’s all I’m saying! ;-)
cheers
Heather

29. - April 13, 2007

Hi Dave…

No doubt great strides, can be made without paying attention to our woundedness but to say…

Don’t get to hung up on it?

Something that affects your every move.

Hung up on it…No.

Pay attention to it — Yes. Otherwise, in my opinion, limit your potential.

May I recommend reading Return To Love, by Marianne Williamson. I’m betting that you’ll make even bigger steps forward.

I’m not trying to be contraditory here. I’m only wanting to relay the importance of emotional clarity.

I am not talking just of new things we learn as we travel through life. I am talking about emotioanl sensitivities that we carry with us. They are not “learned” away.

Shaune

30. - April 13, 2007

I understand but…………………….
I’ve understood the concept of energy from many years of spiritual study, especially from the books on Yogi Philosophy and oriental occultism. This information has been around for thousands of years. Our problem is how to apply it. We have had help determining how to apply this knowledge with movies like the secret and what the bleep do we know.
There are two things extremely important in this journey. Recognition and Reinforcement!!!
We must recognize that we can change the world both inner and outer and we must look for reinforcement in other media and actions to keep use pointed in the direction of personal and group growth.
As a human growing up in the pleasant and not so pleasant place called Earth there are plenty of distrtactions and quetions to distract us from the pursuit of our happiness.
I am currently attracting a vary exciting new business that will bring me Freedom from financial worries. And most of the time I am excited about the actions I have to take and I do use that as a beacon to light my way.
But………………..my day job as a commercial airline pilot, which I no longer enjoy and which no longer brings me happiness. Still pays the bills, and I cannot not yet take the action which inspires me which would be to walk away.

So as I work on the desires that bring me inspired action I still must be responsible in this physical world to the people I transport safely and professionally in a profession that no longer has my name on it.

I only bring this up for those who may be in my shoes. As I follow my inspired action outside of my current physcial job I create a work envirnment that brings as much joy as I can muster to the job paying the bills right now.

My point is, you can always follow your inspired actions, but if your are currently in a place that does not allow you to be your true creative self you CAN create, intend, and attract a better working environment in a place you may not be truly happy with while you pursue that thing that brings you joyful inspired action. And when the time is right, you can then follow only that dream of inspired action.

After all is was “I” who created the first one, and it is “I” who can create the second one, but you don’t have to be miserable while the universe is bringing everything into perfect alignment with your energies of desire.

Health, Wealth, and Happiness to your all. You Deserve it!

31. - April 13, 2007

Amen, Brother! Your point really resonates with me. I too, am in the process of creating MY dream. I choose to be joyful, happy and grateful for my work now, knowing the universe is “preparing my order” for me and it will be manifest at the correct and perfect time for my highest good and every one else involved.

Many Blessings,

Fran

RE:
Elizabeth Richardson - April 13, 2007
How would you feel if you intended, decided or chose something instead of ‘wanting’ it…?

Elizabeth,
One key to this is to learn to “let go”. By this I mean that when you intend what you desire, with passion and belief you should expect 100% to get it, and then “let go” of it alltogether. Let the Universe do its part. Think about this… no matter where you are in life, you’ve been able to “survive” without “it”, so by bringing this point into consciousness you know that if you don’t get it, you’ll be able to continue anyhow. That is the true power of intending while detaching yourself of the “wanting it”.

33. - April 14, 2007

I read all of the above words and am profoundly aware of what a magnificent bunch of people there are in the world - all great teachers in their own right.
Bless you all.

34. - April 14, 2007

Hey Dave…Thanks for the advice and the book recommendation, I will take advantage of both. I’ve never read any of Bob Schienfeld’s work, I look forward to it.
And Shaune, “Return to Love” by Marianne Williamson is an awesome read. It’s been years but I believe worth a second time round.
To all of you who have posted on this topic thus far, thanks! It’s been great learning from you. I look forward to reading more.

Susan

35. - April 14, 2007

If I understaood what you were saying initially Heather, I agree. I’ve always held the belief that there is more than one “right way” to do things.

There are tried and true methods of success, such as setting goals and working toward them on a steady basis. And, there are others ways that people have achieved the lives of their dreams.

If we have a sense, or inner knowing, that what we are choosing is best for us, then I think we’re choosing from our inner guidance and it will work.

If we’re sensing any disturbance or opting for the easy, familiar choice, then we’re probably on that slippery slope to repeated failure.

I’ve had the experience that inspired thoughts come to me and actions based on those lead me to what I am focused on achieving. I’ve also had great success with setting goals and creating action steps and milestones towards those goals. Sometimes I am moved toward one of those and sometimes it is the other. When I listen to that inner wisdom, I am always pleased with the results.

Thanks for the thought-provoking article Heather.

I agree with the book recommendations too. Both Busting Loose from the Money Game and Return to Love have inspired me at different times in my life.
Warmest regards,
Rosemary Heenan

36. - April 14, 2007

Thanks for the feedback everyone :) and Shaune, I will read “return to love”, I didn’t intend to sound as though past “wounds” aren’t worth attention, just the fact that sometimes they are hard to uncover and then determining how to repair. I do have experience with these sort of issues with members of my own family and we have found that as we learnt and grew more answers came to counteract some issues without having to get “bogged down” looking for a way forward. Knowledge is important, and knowing how to best use the knowledge is critical.
I have a firm belief in the betterment of anyone who continues to explore all areas of this with an open mind, even David, if he is still reading? can’t help but have his negative life altered in some small way, I just hope he isn’t too negative to realise it.
After seeing the underlying theme of all these posts and Heathers original comment my new motto is “If it feels right - then go for it”.

Dave

37. - April 14, 2007

While I agree with the essence of this resonance theory, this is where it falls apart for me.

I have found that MANY of my artist friends, especially musicians, have great passion and desire around their art, BUT when it comes time to practice, to get off their ass and go work on their craft, up comes a big “I don’t wanna!”

So, it doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t feel inspired to go do it. To take that action. In that moment.

But once taken, once they do get off their butt and MAKE themselves go practice, they feel great.

So, I don’t know. Maybe taking action towards something one wants, even when it doesn’t feel good in that moment, is a way of coming into resonance.

38. - April 14, 2007

Nancy,

I’m not sure if it’s “I don’t wanna” that they’re actually experiencing, they may just be unable to translate what’s really going on.

I am and have been immersed in the personal lives of artists and musicians and performers my whole life. I have studied and interviewed them in depth, asked them the tough questions about what it takes to be a success.

What I find is that every performer, no matter how seasoned, gets nervous before going on. Some more, some less. Even Bruce Springsteen and James Brown experience/d nerves before each show.

Why, right? Makes no sense, they’re top of their game, what’s to be nervous about?

The nerves are a sign of wanting to do great, wanting that performance to be the most kick-ass performance ever.

What you’re describing is the concept of “feel the fear and do it anyway.” It’s what is told to beginner speakers, actors, performers… everybody.

Because once “into the game” the fear and nervousness goes away and the passion takes over, just as you described.

I think if they were to ask their IGS instead of listening to the nerves, they’d discover that in fact the IGS was opening even though it might be immediately suffocated by the nerves or fear.

Not a big deal… artists know the passion is there, and they know about overcoming this stumbling block every time. So do your friends or you wouldn’t have been able to describe their situation so succinctly, because they would not have described it to you.

Hope that makes it clearer.

cheers
Heather

CHERYL ROSE, You hit the nail on the head! VERY cool.
There is a book called Ask and it is Given.. Learning to Manifest Your Desires written by Esther and Jerry Hicks. In it says this, There is only a stream of Well Being that flows. You can resist it, or allow it. You decide. But it keeps flowing anyway. You monitor whether you are resisting it or allowing it by noticing your emotions. So we can want something and not allow it, will it manifest? No. But when we allow something, whether we want it or not, it will show, because our vibrations of allowing will attract that something to us. THUS…If it feels good, it is. If it doesn’t, it isn’t.

Thank You Rick and Fran!!!
Like Rick, I am a bit weary of my current Occupation- Realtor, even though I am successful at it. What I want to do is so different and multifaucted…. I havent figured how to make it all work ..YET. But I realize that I have to continue to be joyful and hopeful in my current situation. FAITH baby. And whomever commented on belief systems- hit the nail on the head. If you can’t see yourself driving a ferrari or living in a mansion-it won’t happen.
Great blog- Love all the comments!!!

Wonderful … fear, energy, passion, boredom, get off your butt, faith … live words … I am my body. My body I am.

Sometimes I see the future and I come alive. Sometimes I see the future and I am blocked. What allows or causes the different response. Having reflected on the matter, I may have come across an answer which serves my understanding and growth. My own expereince is that when I am learning conciously I am alive and that sense of resonance of being truly alive and kickin’ is active. I know all is one in one.

What a brilliant breakdown.
These questions have been nagging at me for years, and finally an explanation that includes all of them, and accepts all of the possible answers.
Thank you

This is a wonderful topic with a lot of interesting and thought provoking views.

I told myself I wanted to win the Lotto, if other people could do it so could I so I bought lotto tickets every week. Nothing happened yet I felt so sure I would win until I realised that deep down inside I did not want to win the lotto because although I wanted the money I did not want the changes it would make to my life.

I entered a competion to win a trailor with the thought “I will win this for my husband that would be nice.” and forgot alll about it until the phone call telling me I had won.

But scariest of all I realised fleeting things you wish for happen sometimes months after the thought that you did not pay much attention to. The scary part is how they happen not always in the best way. Think about it you very seldom put two and two together so don’t realise what is happening. It is a wake up call when you do, thats when you realize how important your thoughts realy are.

Thanks Heather for the simplicity & insight of your post Who cares if you just re-invented the wheel.I for one forgot they existed in the first place–temporary amnesia lol
.Btw Bob Scheinfeld got his ideas in great part from his mentor Arnold Patent, whose books include ” You can have it All” & “the Journey”.Very profound & simple to understand at the same time.

A very useful tiny missing piece of the manifestation jigsaw which could help to make the manifestation process smooth & problem-free is by after stating or affirming your desire to affirm:

“this or something better manifests for me now in completely harmonious & satisfying ways for the highest good of all concerned”

I got that one from Shakti Gawain, a much overlooked pioneer in the field of manifestation.
( I remember Joe Vitale using similar words in the Secret –”this or something even better”)

I hope this is of help to everyone..
